oatmilk collects nothing.
Your list stays on your device. This page says what that means, and what to expect when you use it.
Privacy
What oatmilk collects
Nothing. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no cookies and no analytics in the app. oatmilk has no server of its own that receives your tasks, notes, labels or settings.
Where your list lives
In your browser's own storage, on your device. If you clear your browser's site data, your list goes with it. Use Save a backup file in the ••• menu to keep a copy. Backup files are saved to your device and stay with you.
When something does leave your device
- Stir with your own AI key. Only if you add a key and press Stir (or ask for steps, or let oatmilk write notes). Your open tasks, labels, a few notes, how long things have waited, your sorting instructions and what oatmilk has noticed are sent straight from your browser to the AI provider you choose: Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT) or Google (Gemini). Nothing passes through oatmilk. That provider's terms and privacy policy apply to what you send them. Google's free Gemini plan is an example: on it, Google may use what you send to improve its products, and people may review it. A paid plan doesn't.
- Your key. It stays on your device. It is only kept between visits if you tick "Remember on this device", and it is never included in a backup.
- Calendar links. If you click "Google Calendar" on a reminder, that task's text goes to Google, and only when you click.
- Reminders and notifications. These are created on your device, and only work while oatmilk is open.
The website
This website may use analytics to count visits, such as which pages are viewed and roughly where visitors are from, and its host may keep standard server logs (such as your IP address and the time of a request), as any website does. That covers visits to the website only. Nothing you enter in the app is ever part of it, because your list never reaches the website or its host.
Terms
Free, as is
oatmilk is free to use, and it is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It may have bugs, change, or stop working. Use it at your own discretion.
Your list and your backups
Browsers can clear stored data, and devices get lost. You are responsible for keeping backups of anything that matters. Please don't rely on oatmilk for anything where a missed task or reminder could cause harm.
Stir is a suggestion
Stir's order, reasons and steps are suggestions, written by software. They can be wrong. They are not professional advice, and you decide what to do.
Using your own key costs money
If you use Stir with AI, you are using your own account with Anthropic, OpenAI or Google. That provider charges you directly, usually a cent or less per sort, depending on the model and the size of your list. Set a spend limit on your key in the provider's console. Google AI Studio also offers a free Gemini key with no card (see above for what that means for your data).
Your key, at your own risk
Adding an API key is optional. If you do, you use it and the AI provider's service entirely at your own risk and expense. You are solely responsible for your key, its security, your provider account, and every charge on it.
To the fullest extent the law allows, the author of oatmilk accepts no liability for any fees, charges, usage costs or losses arising from your use of an API key or an AI provider through oatmilk. This includes costs caused by bugs, errors, repeated or unexpected requests, outages, changes to a provider's prices or models, or anyone else using your key. Any dispute about charges is between you and your provider.
Not affiliated with Anthropic, OpenAI or Google
oatmilk is an independent project. It is not made, endorsed or supported by Anthropic, OpenAI or Google. Claude, Anthropic, GPT, OpenAI, Gemini and Google are their owners' trademarks.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the author is not liable for any loss or damage from using oatmilk, including lost data or lost time.
